COGNITIVE BEHAVIORAL THERAPY FOR INSOMNIA (CBT-I)
Gold standard treatment for insomnia
Cognitive behavioral therapy for insomnia (CBT-I) has been found to be highly effective for clinically diagnosed insomnia and is the gold standard therapy recommended by the American College of Physicians. It includes talk therapy and behavioral changes to improve sleep habits and routines to influence sleep onset and sleep quality. The American College of Physicians recommends that all adult patients should receive CBT-I as the "first-line" in treating chronic insomnia. Occupational therapy has a unique lens for treating clients in the ADLs of sleep preparation and sleep participation for health and wellbeing.

HEARTMATH
for Stress, Anxiety, and Emotion Regulation
HeartMath techniques can enhance the connection of the heart and brain to rewire the stress response and shift to compassion and resilience. These techniques can include biofeedback and are clinically proven to help people with generalized anxiety, depression, fatigue and burnout, test and performance anxiety, chronic pain, sleep difficulties, OCD, ADHD, and stress of daily life.
Recent biomedical research has shown that the heart continuously communicates with the brain and body via the nervous system, hormonal system, and and bio-electromagnetic interactions. These heart signals have significant effects on the brain, influencing emotional processing as well as higher cognitive faculties such as attention, perception, memory, and problem-solving. An occupational therapist clinically certified in HeartMath techniques will guide you in training your autonomic nervous system to create heart-brain coherence and habits that support you to be the best version of yourself. HeartMath involves techniques and technology that provide objective and measurable ways to see improvements in physiological and behavioral functioning. Most individuals will see measurable outcomes within 4 weeks.
